A warning to the Brethren in Messiah
concerning the evil spirit world around us
Dear Brethren in YAHshua Ha Mashiach, please keep it in mind that the evil one is very skillful at deceiving people with his supernatural powers, signs and lying wonders. His evil powers are surely trying to infiltrate the true Assemblies and Congregations of YAHWEH in these last days with a counterfeit of YAHWEH'S Holy Spirit and with counterfeits of the gifts of YAHWEH'S Holy Spirit.
Matthew 24 (24) For there shall arise false messiahs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very Elect.
II Thessalonians 2 (7) For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. (8) And then shall that wicked be revealed, whom the Sovereign shall consume with the spirit of His mouth [Isa. 11:4], and shall destroy with the brightness of His coming: (9) Even him, whose coming is after the working of satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, (10) And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (11) And for this cause YAHWEH shall send them strong delusion [through the evil one and his angels], that they should believe a lie: (12) That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Revelation 12 (7) And there was war in Heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, (8) And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in Heaven. (9) And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the devil, and satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Revelation 16 (12) And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared. (13) And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet. (14) For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of YAHWEH Almighty.
WARNING! If we are trying to use our carnal mind, eyes, ears, and/or supernatural-induced physical feelings and manifestations in the flesh to confirm or assure us that what we are doing is pleasing to YAHWEH, we will most certainly be deceived into falsely believing that we are pleasing HIM even when we are actually walking in disobedience to HIS will. Therefore, heed the warning and the advice of the apostle Peter which is as follows:
II Peter III (17) Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. (18) But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Sovereign and Saviour YAHshua Messiah. To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
To see how some of this deception is carried out, it should be enlightening to read the following true story of someone who had been deceived by the adversary with the physical hearing of the ears and supernatural-induced physical feelings and manifestations in the flesh for a period of months. (We will refer to him as John Doe).
Almost twenty years ago, John Doe had decided that the time had come to fully separate himself from the things of this world and repent of his sins. John Doe and his family started attending a seventh day assembly because he was already fully aware of which day was to be kept holy in obedience to the fourth commandment.
Exodus 20 (8) Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. (9) Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: (10) But the seventh day is the Sabbath of YAHWEH thy Elohim: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: (11) For in six days YAHWEH made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore YAHWEH blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.
His next step was to accept YAHWEH'S Son's death as the atonement for his sins, accept YAHWEH'S grace and be obedient to the command to be baptized in the name of our Saviour YAHshua Ha Mashiach for the remission of sins and to receive YAHWEH'S Holy Spirit.
Acts 2 (38) Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of YAHshua Mashiach for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
John Doe did not know at that time what the true names of our Heavenly FATHER and our Saviour were. However, YAHWEH still honored HIS promise and did give John Doe HIS Holy Spirit as John Doe was truly being called into HIS service.
At that time, the things of the world no longer meant anything to him. He began to grow spiritually at a very rapid pace. This spiritual growth had absolutely nothing to do with where he was baptized or by whom he was baptized. It had everything to do with YAHWEH calling him by HIS grace through YAHshua Ha Mashiach and John Doe's determination to seek out YAHWEH'S will and to live his life for HIM instead of for himself.
Some time later, John Doe got so over-anxious to serve YAHWEH that he listened to some of the wrong people who seemed to have an extraordinary personal contact with YAHWEH and seemed to be receiving supernatural powers and messages from HIM. (Those people referred to themselves as Pentecostal.) John Doe desired to have that WHICH SEEMED TO BE such an extraordinary personal contact with YAHWEH too. He soon began to actually hear an audible supernatural voice and experienced some supernatural powers manifested by different physical feelings in his flesh THAT SEEMED TO BE directly from YAHWEH. He also soon began to speak in a different tongue (language). He was very excited and was very happy with WHAT HE WAS LED TO BELIEVE was an extraordinary personal relationship with YAHWEH. (Later in this article, some of John Doe's personal experiences from that short period of time will be described for the Brethren in YAHshua. The reason is so that they will be more able to recognize and reject such powers which they surely will encounter in the near future.)
After a few months, it became evident to John Doe that the audible voice of the spirit that was producing these things was occasionally lying to him. He had a hard choice to make. (Those who have never had any of those supernatural powers working in and through them have no idea how hard it is to give those things up! One gets exalted so high in his own eyes that he can hardly consider being abased and is tempted to continue with those powers. It is that addictive! Only YAHWEH can free them from the addiction.) John Doe had to give up those supernatural powers manifested by different physical feelings in his flesh which his friends at work admired him for having. He had to admit that he had been deceived. He had to take the chance on his closest friend and all the people, whom he had preached to, never believing anything else that he had to say if he was to admit to them that he had been following the audible supernatural voice of a lying spirit. He also had to take a chance on loosing the respect of the assembly which always relished in the activities of that spirit's supernatural powers, its so-called gift of speaking in tongues, its voices and its different supernatural-induced physical feelings and manifestations in the flesh. He made his choice. He choose to forsake all of those things and serve YAH-WEH, the Living Elohim, in spirit and in truth! HalleluYAH!!!
YAHWEH had opened John Doe's understanding as to what was going on, John Doe rejected that lying spirit with its audible voice, its supernatural powers, its false tongues (languages) and all of its different physical feelings manifested in his flesh. However, the assembly refused to recognize and reject the lying spirit which had them deceived into thinking that it was indeed YAH-WEH'S Spirit that was talking to and leading them. John Doe and his family could no longer worship where that spirit remained, so he and his family left the assembly.
John Doe did not know it at the time, but YAHWEH allowed him to be deceived for that period of months by satan's deception in order to show him how easy it was for satan to deceive people with his very powerful deceiving spirit and supernatural powers. YAHWEH allowed John Doe to personally experience those things in order that John Doe could WARN THE BRETHREN in YAHshua Ha Mashiach and tell them from first-hand experience just how the evil one works while he is so actively MASQUERADING as an angel (messenger) of light.
II Corinthians 11 (13) For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Messiah. (14) And no marvel; for satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
Another reason that John Doe was allowed to have that experience was to teach him to WALK BY FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT i.e. what he sees, hears, and feels in the flesh. Even though John Doe was thankful that YAH-WEH gave him the wisdom to see that he had been duped by the evil one, he still had not fully learned the lesson being taught him. He had been fasting and praying for three days while preparing for the forthcoming Day of Pentecost service which was to be held in his home. He was repeatedly asking YAHWEH that if it was HIS will to let basically the same things happen in the service as that was recorded in the book of Acts, chapter two. He also prayed that YAHWEH would not allow satan to deceive anyone attending the service with any feelings, voices, false tongues or any other things that were contrary to YAHWEH'S will. He was resting on his stomach on his bed that Friday night while continuing the fasting. He was wide awake and all of a sudden he was in a vision. It was almost as if someone was playing a short movie. It was rather hard for him to explain, but it was like he was there in a dream, only he was wide awake instead of sleeping. He was standing on the gable of a huge building with a very steep roof. All around him were what appeared to be large sheets of bark scattered around on that roof. His physical eyes and his natural understanding was telling him that he was going to slide on the bark and that he would slide off the roof and maybe get hurt. Instead, he had the faith that he was not going to slide off and get hurt regardless of the physical evidence that told him otherwise. Then all of a sudden the whole building slowly settled down to about a foot from the ground and he walked off onto the ground completely safe and unshaken. It was exactly three days and three nights later that YAHWEH'S Holy Spirit opened his understanding to what the vision had meant. It then dawned on him that he had been fasting and praying for signs, tongues and things to see, hear and feel YAHWEH'S presence in his flesh to reassure himself that YAHWEH was pleased with what he was doing!
The flesh wants assurance or confirmation! The flesh needs something tangible. We should get our assurance or confirmation by comparing spiritual things with spiritual things in the scriptures and not with physical and carnal things in the flesh.
I Corinthians 2 (12) Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of YAHWEH; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of YAHWEH. (13) Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Spirit teacheth; COMPARING SPIRITUAL THINGS WITH SPIRITUAL.
Assurance by those fleshly things that he had been praying for are the very things that satan uses to fool disobedient people who are so comfortably wrapped up in their pagan customs, and pagan practices, pagan holidays, and the commandments of men. They are fooled into thinking that it is YAHWEH WHO is personally contacting them and that HE is very pleased with them even though in truth they are walking in total disobedience to HIS will. Having been exalted in their own eyes by satan's deception, they continue to walk in total disobedience to YAHWEH'S will!
The evil one will also do his best to deceive those who are doing YAHWEH'S will with these same deceptions in the same way to draw them away from HIM.
John Doe hadn't fully learned his lesson the first time that he is not supposed to walk by that which he could see, hear, and feel with the flesh. Therefore, the main purpose of the vision was to tell him one more time that he MUST WALK BY FAITH AND NOT BY SIGHT (i.e. by what we physically view by seeing, hearing, feeling and so forth) and he would never fall. That is very much in line with this short scripture:
II Corinthians 5 (7) For WE WALK BY FAITH [or faithfulness], NOT BY SIGHT:
According to the double prophesy found in Isaiah 11:1-4, even YAHshua, the Branch, does not judge by sight, but by righteousness.
Isaiah 11 (I) And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: (2) And the spirit of YAHWEH shall rest upon Him, the spirit of WISDOM and UNDERSTANDING, the spirit of COUNSEL and MIGHT, the spirit of KNOWLEDGE and of the FEAR of YAHWEH; (3) And shall make Him of quick understanding in the fear [properly translated as REVERENCE] of YAHWEH: and He shall not judge after the sight of His eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of His ears: (4) But with righteousness shall He judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and He shall smite the earth with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips shall He slay the wicked.
Also, YAHshua said the following:
John 7 (24) (24) Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
When YAHWEH had opened John Doe's understanding as to what was going on in the wicked spirit world around us, the truth about a certain booklet suddenly became very clear to him. It was written by a very powerful Sabbath-rejecting Sunday-Keeping man who appeared to have worked many miracles in his ministry while in the spirit as most Pentecostals call it. He is a well-known author who had been in the ministry for approximately 50 years when he wrote the booklet in 1983. (He will be referred to as Mr. X.)
This booklet gives some very revealing things on what that spirit does through one's flesh and builds up one's ego and pride. Some of the things that he wrote in his book are quoted below. (You can judge for yourself if it is YAHWEH'S Holy Spirit working in him. I will refer to the spirit working in him as the spirit. )
The following prophecy given through the spirit to Mr. X is quoted from page 57 of his booklet. (My comments will be inserted in brackets and bold print.)
Prophesy
Many would say, Let's get back to the Acts of
the Apostles. Let's get back to the Early Church. Let's do things like they
did. Yes, saith the spirit of God, have the same experience they did - walk in
the same light they did - but if you walk in the same Church government they
walked in, you'll be a baby Church and a baby Christian with no spiritual
growth. [Ridiculous!] But you have grown and have developed. [The spirit was exalting and building up the pride or
ego of Mr. X!] Therefore, rise
up and walk in the light of the word of God for today. [Did the
apostles who were personally trained by YAHshua the Light have less light
than Mr. X?] Enjoy the full
flow of the Spirit of God and the
anointing of God will rest upon thee;
and the anointing of God will flow
through thee; and the anointing of God will
be upon men as they stand in the place of the ministry. And so shall the entire
church be edified and the work of God shall
be wrought.
On page 18, Mr. X writes:
The Holy Spirit will teach us, and when we hear the Word taught, the Holy Spirit also will bear witness with our spirit if the teaching is right.
How did he Mr. X get his witness from the spirit? On page 20 of his 165 page booklet called Understanding the Anointing, he states that on the inside of him it felt like something was turning flips which he said was the Spirit of YAHWEH telling him that's so! (This was a very crucial feeling in the flesh in the experiences of John Doe.)
We must learn to look to our (human) spirit,
even when our mind can't grasp what we're hearing. I've heard men preach, I've
listened to tapes, and I've studied books - and my head just couldn't grasp it.
But on the inside of me, it FELT LIKE SOMETHING
WAS TURNING FLIPS. I knew
my spirit, because of the Holy Spirit within me, was telling me, That's so.
[Un-scriptural! Un-scriptural!]
Mr. X mentions many, many, experiences with many different physical feelings on him and the people to whom he has ministered to in his booklet. Throughout his booklet, he seems to recognize different anointing's or flow of the spirit, coming down on him and then be lifted up off of him by the way that they felt.
Below are some of the different supernaturally-induced feelings that he mentions in him and the ones that he ministered to.
1. FLIPS - page 20: Quoted above.
2. Hands, arms, and sometimes even the whole body tingled and his hands would also burn like fire- From page 136: I can stand only so much anointing, and I can't stand it for very long. There are times I feel as if I'm going to fall down - it seems my legs are going out from under me. My hands tingle. My arms tingle. Sometimes my whole body tingles. Sometimes the anointing in the palms of my hands burns like fire.
3. Flowed like electricity- From page 129: I thought for a moment, How am I going to get up? I'm paralyzed. But when I made the effort and acted upon the Word, the power of God came down on me and went through me like a bolt of electricity!
4. Cloak or mantle on
him- pages 98 & 123: (-From 98) The word mantle means a cloak. Sometimes in ministry, when the anointing
comes on me, it seems like a cloak is coming down over me. It feels
like I might be wearing an overcoat - yet I'm really not. But the power of God - the anointing - so
envelops me that I'll feel that way. (From page 123) Sometimes when the anointing comes on me it feels as if I'm wearing a coat - it's as if somebody threw an overcoat on
me. Then, after I have ministered for a time, I've felt
it lift like a burden. It
has seemed to fly away.
5. Something
clicked like a
coin dropping down inside him- From page 52 & 53: I'd been lying down. I walked across the
parsonage living room and into the kitchen for a drink of water. As I was
coming back across the living room, right in the middle of the room something dropped down on me and inside me. It just clicked
down on the inside of me
like a coin drops inside a pay phone. I stopped dead still. I knew what it was.
It was a teaching gift. The anointing to teach had dropped inside me. I said, Now
I can teach.
Mr X mentions that YAHshua was suddenly anointed by the Holy Spirit when He spat on the ground to make clay and put on the blind man when He healed.
One time He spat on the ground, made clay of
the spittle, rubbed it on a blind man's eyes, and said, Go, wash in the pool
of Siloam
He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing (John 9:7)
Do you think Jesus did that because He laid
awake nights trying His best to think up something different? No, He was suddenly
anointed by the Spirit of God. God will use people in different ways.
That is absurd! Our Sovereign YAHshua Ha Mashiach Who is the #1 High Priest, Shepherd, Apostle, Prophet, Teacher, Evangelist & Healer of all ages NEVER had to be suddenly *anointed, re-anointed, consecrated, re-consecrated, declared to be set apart, re-declared to be set apart, dedicated, re-dedicated or temporally anointed to do any of the miracles, teaching, preaching, healing, casting out devils or anything else! (He didn't have to feel any physical feelings manifested in His flesh to guide Him either!)

At YAHshua's baptism, the manifestation of the Holy Spirit descended from Heaven in the form of a dove, but it was truly a sign from Heaven as a sign that He, the long awaited Messiah being manifested to YAHWEH'S people Israel, was the One Who would baptize (immerse) Believers with the Holy Spirit.
Luke 3 (21) Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that YAHshua also being baptized, and praying, the Heaven was opened, (22) And the Holy Spirit descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from Heaven, which said, Thou art MY beloved Son; in Thee I am well pleased.
John 1 (29) The next day John seeth YAHshua coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of YAHWEH, which taketh away the sin of the world. (30) This is He of Whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for He was before me. (31) And I knew Him not: but that He should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water. (32) And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from Heaven like a dove, and it abode upon Him. (33) And I knew Him not: but HE [YAHWEH] that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon Whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, the same is He which baptizeth [immerses] with the Holy Spirit. (34) And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of YAHWEH.

some of John Doe's personal experiences while he was deceived with that which he could see, hear,
and feel with
the flesh and assumed that it was YAHWEH'S Holy Spirit are described below for examples of
how easy it is for Believers to be deceived by the deceiver.
Before you Brethren in Messiah read this, it is recommended that you keep this one thing in your mind. Satan will tell you a lot of the truth, but will mix it with some falsehood in order to deceive you. He will guide you to do some things that are, or seem to be, good just to get your confidence and when he has your confidence he will guide you to do both good and evil which actually turns you away from doing YAHWEH'S will while making you think that you are doing HIS will. (Remember the tree of good and evil in the Garden of Eden?) He will make bad things that he leads you to do look as if they are good!
The first incident with John Doe started out innocently enough. He was in pain with neck and back strain during the last day or two at work. He could hardly move without severe pains when he got up on Sabbath morning. He had no intentions of letting that hold him back from going to Sabbath services. So, he took a very large dose of aspirin and drove off to attend the morning service with his family.
When the service first started, the minister ask him to come up and let the assembly pray for him. They could tell that something was wrong by the way that he walked and because he didn't turn his head for fear of the severe pain in his neck. There were several people who laid their hands on him. As they began to pray, what appeared to feel like an electrical shock came through the hands of one of the men and jolted through John Doe's body. When they were through praying for him he decided to try and see if he could turn his head without the severe pain in his neck. He turned his head and there was no pain! He then twisted from side to side and there was no pain in his back! He was very excited. He claimed a healing from YAHWEH and gave HIM praise, but was it really a healing or was it just the affect of the large dose of aspirin and/or some psychology? There was still a very sore spot deep down in the lower back where the problem originated from in the first place. He had to begin taking aspirin again in a day or two and took them for several days
On about the first day or so back at work while John Doe was working, he was giving YAHWEH thanks for the healing which he was still claiming. (Pentecostal people always tell you that you have to keep exercising your faith by keeping on claiming your healing even when the physical healing did not seem complete. As he gave thanks and praise to YAHWEH, a feeling of what felt like warm water flowing gently through his body started at the top of his body and continued downward through his body. A little while later as he began again to give praise and thanks to YAHWEH, the same thing happened again. Many times after that when he desired to receive that manifestation in the flesh, he would begin to give praise and thanks for just about anything that came to his mind and the feeling would be manifested again in his flesh.
At the next night service, the minister asked John Doe to testify. He went up behind the pulpit and claimed his healing again before the whole assembly. He told them how that he was giving thanks and praise to YAHWEH for it and how he felt the feeling of warm water flowing through his entire body. The feeling came in him again as he testified. The more that he testified the stronger the feeling became. He was very excited. He was told that it was the Holy Spirit flowing through him. Under the circumstances that the feelings were manifested, that seemed to him to be correct. It seemed to him that YAHWEH was truly pleased with what he was doing. He was deceived into thinking that YAHWEH was beginning a very close personal relationship with him and he had been desiring such a physical relationship very much.
Some time later, a few members from that assembly were meeting once a week in their homes for Bible study and a prayer meeting. They invited John Doe to attend. While they were having a prayer session they were all gathered in a circle where everyone joined together by holding hands. They prayed and they were speaking in a tongue, interpreting a tongue, and prophesying in the spirit that night while the spirit was really moving in and through the group. As they were in the circle, something strange was being felt going back and forth from one to another. This was manifested to John Doe by a feeling in the flesh that felt like a movement of energy that triggered a muscle reflex coming from the hand of the person next to him, pass through his arm, his body, his other arm and then through his hand into the person on the other side of him. They told John Doe that the spirit that was moving was the spirit of YAHWEH. He falsely believed all these things that they were doing were through what they called the movement of the spirit of YAHWEH (They just didn't know what the spirit was that moved them!)
For sometime after that night, John Doe desired to have more and more involvement with the movement of the spirit in several areas such as what appeared to be the gift of speaking in tongues etc. He tried several times to speak in tongues and could not. However, late one night while he was lying in bed, a strange feeling of confidence came over him that he could speak in a different language. He got up, went into the bathroom, turned on the shower and got into it and a different language came pouring forth! He was deceived into believing that it was from YAHWEH. Since everyone had been telling him that he had to pray in tongues a lot to build up himself in the power of the what they called the Holy Ghost, he prayed almost every day in that language even when he didn't know what he was saying. (Please read the article above on tongues to understand the true use of the gift of speaking in tongues.)
John Doe had many experiences concerning what Mr. X called the flips and John Doe and others referred to it as the thumps and also as the quickening of the spirit. He watched a man in the assembly who had them quite often during services. Many Pentecostal people who consider themselves spiritual think that this quickening of the spirit is from YAHWEH. John Doe describes it as an electrical charge, usually in the middle of the back that causes a reflex action that feels almost like a thump which actually feels great! It makes a visible reflex movement in that area of the back plumb through to the stomach. He was even falsely convinced that it was YAHWEH making love to him! Every time it would happen, he would thank YAHWEH out loud for it, regardless of where he was or what he was doing. One time it happened while a co-worker had his hand on the middle of John Doe's back. The coworker said that he felt the thump and that he felt electricity run plumb up to his elbow! That was definitely a supernatural power that was manifested in the flesh!
John Doe was really enjoying this manifestation in the flesh and he came up with what he falsely thought was a great idea. He asked YAHWEH if the thump or quickening of the spirit could be used as a means of confirmation. John Doe then felt the big thump as if YAHWEH agreed to use it as a means of confirmation. He told YAHWEH that he would make a statement and if it was correct for HIM to manifest the thump in his flesh and if the statement was not correct for HIM not to manifest the thump. (This was similar to Mr. X's experience with the Flips telling him That's right as mentioned above from his booklet.) John Doe then made a statement or two that he knew was correct and sure enough he received the thump or quickening of the spirit as a confirmation that it was correct. When he would make a statement that he knew was not quite correct there would be no thump. This really made John Doe falsely believe that YAHWEH was EXALTING HIM as a very special person who had a most extraordinary personal relationship and a direct means of communication with HIM! He used this mode of confirmation for various things for several months.
One incident concerning the thumps or quickening of the spirit that should have woke John Doe up to what was going on happened several weeks later. He was going over to visit a Pentecostal man, but he didn't know the way over to where he lived. He had been to his house before, but he just didn't know how to get to the community in which he lived. Therefore, he asked YAHWEH if HE would guide him over there by confirming which streets to take by the thump. He immediately received a big thump or quickening of the spirit in his flesh. When he approached the town that he was to pass through, he would ask YAHWEH if he was to go up this or that street. If he got the thump he would go that way. If he didn't get the thump he didn't go that way. He was led all over that town by the spirit and when he accidentally found where he was going he was terribly shaken up. He immediately questioned the spirit filled spirit led Pentecostal man about why the spirit misled him by leading him around all over the town for several hours. John Doe was told that the problem was that he had not been praying enough in tongues and he needed to do more of it to build himself up in the Holy Ghost. John Doe wasn't too sure if that was the case or not. (At this time, he also remembered that his daddy had warned him about these manifestations in the flesh.) So, he just kept it in mind for time being. (A few months later, this incident played a big part in bringing John Doe to recognize whose spirit that spirit really was.)
Even after that disappointing experience, there were still many other experiences that took place which made John Doe falsely feel exalted to a privileged class with direct communication with YAHWEH through HIS Spirit. For instance, one Monday he was working and it was five minutes until twelve o'clock noon. He felt a strong feeling of something coming over and through him that generated chills and Goosebumps all over him. (This is the way the spirit always came over John Doe when it manifested its supernatural audible voice.) He stopped working just to listen to what the spirit was getting ready to say. In a hurried like voice, it said something like, My anointed servant! Rebuke satan for her! Immediately he knew exactly who the spirit was talking about. It was a lady in the assembly that lived somewhere on the other side of town. John Doe quickly rebuked satan in the name of the Saviour. He purposely mentioned the incident to absolutely no one because he wanted to talk to her first and she didn't have a telephone. Two days later on Wednesday night, John Doe was out in front of the assembly building waiting for her to arrive for the Wednesday night service. As soon as she arrived, he met her at the car and asked her if anything had happened to her on Monday. She said that something did indeed happen. She said that she and her sister-in-law were out hunting for another house to rent. They were going through an intersection and a car seemed to have came out of nowhere at a high rate of speed and almost hit them. He asked her when that had happened. She said, almost twelve o'clock noon. Being deceived by the deceiver, John Doe falsely thought that YAHWEH had used him to stop the deceiver from hurting or maybe killing the lady. This again exalted John Doe in his own eyes.
There was this one incidence that happened at the period when John Doe would predict things that would come to pass and they would actually come to pass. He and his best friend and Brother in the Messiah were playing pool together in the recreation room where they worked. It somehow came to John Doe's mind that his friend was going to quit smoking cigarettes on a particular day in the coming week or two. Instead of telling his friend what had just came to him, he wrote down the message with the date predicted that he would quit and told him that he would give him the message that he had just received at the proper time. His friend watched him put the message into his wallet.
On the predicted day, John Doe went down to his friend's area of work and his friend told him that he had some good news to tell him. He said something to the affect that he had quit smoking cigarettes for good that very day. John Doe said that he already knew about it and opened up his wallet and handed the written message to him. He was absolutely shocked! He lost his breath and the spirit came on him very very strong. The chills went all over him and produced Goosebumps on his body. Both John Doe and his friend falsely thought that he was being baptized by the Holy Spirit. (Please read the article on YAHWEH'S Holy Spirit which was mentioned above.) They both learned later what spirit the spirit really was.
After that, this same friend and Brother used these strong chills as a confirmation the same way that John Doe used the thumps or quickening of the spirit, and similar to how Mr. X used the Flips as a confirmation. He was so dedicated to it that he almost had to have the confirmation by his chills that it was okay for him to go to the bathroom. Exaggeration? Well, maybe a little bit. (Can we not use a little bit of humor?)
Some time later when John Doe was testing the spirit, he tested the provider of the thumps in a strange way with good results. He began by making some common statements that he knew were positive for which he received confirmation by the thump or quickening of the spirit. Then he would make some positive statements about satan such as: The old devil is a liar and the father of lies. YAHshua sure defeated both him and death. The old devil doesn't have much time left. The old devil is not going to be able to deceive anyone for a thousand years. For the obvious reasons, the spirit didn't want to discuss those questions and there were NO THUMPS! That finished breaking John Doe's confidence in the thumps completely! The previous warning from his dad had been found valid!
John Doe had also witnessed people being slain in the spirit which is totally unscriptural, but made to appear scriptural. More Pentecostal preachers than one had tried and failed to have him slain in the spirit by the laying on of hands etc. Each time that they tried, he silently breathed a little prayer to YAHWEH that if this was HIS spirit he wanted it, but if it was not HIS Spirit to protect him from it! The last time they tried it was during the time that he had already began testing the spirit. (More about the testing of the spirit will be related to after this next incident.)
There was a young co-worker working down at the manufacturing plant where John Doe worked and he had a child that had an incurable skin disease. He asked John Doe if he would go over in a corner after work and pray for his daughter. John Doe told him that he would do better than that. He said that he would even go over to his co-worker's house and anoint the child with oil and then pray for the child according to the scriptures.
James 5 (14) Is any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the Assembly; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Sovereign: (15) And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and YAHWEH shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
As soon as his co-worker left to go back to his own department, John's Doe had a supernaturally-induced feeling come into his flesh that at first felt like water or very light electricity gently flowing through his whole body. Then his body began to tingle all over with chills, and Goosebumps appeared on his skin. (In Pentecostal circles, one would say, The spirit came over me.) Along with the tingling, a supernatural audible voice began to speak. It said, If you will pray for that child tonight I will heal her. It was definitely a supernatural-induced feeling and a supernatural voice. John Doe thought that he knew for sure that it had to be YAHWEH'S spirit. He drove several miles over to his co-worker's house and laid hands on the little girl and prayed for her and the next morning her dad said that the symptoms were already clearing up. John Doe didn't ask his co-worker about it any more for some time because they worked in different buildings and didn't see each other very often.
John Doe had just assumed that the child was completely healed just like the spirit said that she would be, but some time later, John Doe asked him about her again. He told him the symptoms would keep coming back and then they would leave again. The spirit came over John Doe a second time and told him to go lay hands on her again. The spirit said that the child was healed, but satan was manifesting the symptoms in order to destroy our faith in YAHWEH. That request and reasoning seemed reasonable, so he left work at regular quitting time and went over to the mans house and prayed for the child a second time. He prayed that the symptoms would leave permanently.
That night John Doe went back to work to put in some overtime and as he was walking over to the water fountain to get a drink the spirit came over his whole body again and his whole body just tingled very very strongly with the chills, and Goosebumps. As usual, he stopped to be sure that he could hear what the spirit was going to say. It said that the full manifestation of the child's healing would come very, very soon and that they would never come back again.
Several weeks later, John Doe asked his co-worker again how his daughter was doing. He said it's still the same thing. She would get better and then she get worse again. By this time John Doe had already began to be suspicious that at least some of these supernatural feeling or voices may have come from satan and satan is a liar, the father of lies (John 8:44). (His dad had previously warned him about the supernatural voice too. In fact, his entire family was very skeptical about the voice from the start.) With all these things in mind, he decided to do an experiment and try the spirit. He prayed that YAHWEH would put a hedge around him and allow no other spirit other than HIS Holy Spirit to guide him and that no other spirit could have any power over him in any manner. In this five month experiment, he went to two different churches which were in the Pentecostal movement.
One particular night, when John Doe set out to try the spirit as the Scripture tells us to try all spirits (I John 4:1), he saw the spirit moving in the way that it usually did. He prayed that YAHWEH would only allow HIS Holy Spirit to work there that night. He asked that satan be not allowed to deceive anybody with any feelings in the flesh or voices or false tongues or anything else contrary to YAHWEH'S will. That night each time that several people would start speaking in tongues, usually all at the same time as the quite often did, John Doe would again silently pray in the name of our Saviour that YAHWEH would forbid satan to give any feelings in the flesh, voices or false tongues etc. to anyone in the assembly. Sometimes it was just a matter of seconds until it all would be abruptly stopped. That may have been the very night that the preacher literally cried while he was at the pulpit. He said, Something is wrong! Someone is stopping the Holy Spirit from working here tonight!
Can one person stop YAHWEH from letting HIS gifts of the Holy Spirit work in an assembly? If YAHWEH was willing to give the people something through tongues and interpretations etc., there is no way that satan or John Doe could stop it. HalleluYAH!!!
Amongst other things, two different things happened several times during that five month experiment. It, the spirit, would be moving through the people that were speaking in false tongues and interpretations and when they would first start up John Doe would just ask YAHWEH to stop them if it was not from HIM. Sometimes John Doe would just silently rebuke satan and forbid him in the name of our Saviour to give any false tongues and interpretations, voices, or feelings in the flesh etc. to anyone in the assembly. In both kinds of situations it would sometimes stop almost immediately and other times it would stop very shortly. It should be obvious that anytime one can stop the work of a spirit by prayer to YAHWEH or by rebuking satan in the name of YAHshua, that that spirit does not belong in the assembly at all because it is not of YAHWEH. Nobody can stop YAHWEH'S Spirit when YAHWEH'S Spirit works in HIS Assembly!
In addition to satan giving them those physical feelings, he gave them false tongues and false interpretations, false prophesies, false words of knowledge etc. However, sometimes the people would attempt to speak in tongues and attempt to do interpretations etc. from their own ego, emotion and imagination of their own heart. At various times, it was very evident that some of them were being led neither by YAHWEH'S nor satan's spirit but by their own human spirit.
At the end of that five month experiment, there were no doubts as to whom the spirit belonged to that John Doe and those two assemblies were blindly following through deceitful manifestations in the flesh.
John Doe had not told his best friend and Brother in Messiah about all the testing of the spirit which they were so blindly following. The time had finally come to tell him what was going on. They were again shooting pool in the recreation room by themselves after work. John Doe sat him down and informed him that they had been deceived by a lying spirit and told him that YAHWEH had finally revealed it to himself through the testing of it. He was shocked. He didn't tell John Doe until later, but the first thing that come to his mind was, It looks like here is where we part company.
After he had heard John Doe out, he went home and he surely prayed about it as well as thought about it and decided to make the same choice that John Doe had made. It was just as hard for him to make that decision as it was for John Doe even though they both knew that was the only choice they could really make, because they both loved YAHWEH more that the things that they were giving up! HalleluYAH!!!
Even though John Doe was temporarily deceived by the evil one, the author of this article knows for a fact that he was one hundred percent sincere when he thought that he was following the leading of YAHWEH'S Holy Spirit. How does he know that for a fact? The author of this article is that John Doe!
The following explanation and scripture needs to be read again at this point.
John Doe did not know it at the time, but YAHWEH allowed him to be deceived for that period of months by satan's deception in order to show him how easy it was for satan to deceive people with his very powerful deceiving spirit and supernatural powers. YAHWEH allowed John Doe to personally experience those things in order that John Doe could WARN THE BRETHREN in YAHshua Ha Mashiach and tell them from first-hand experience just how the evil one works while the evil one is so actively MASQUERADING as an angel (messenger) of light.
II Corinthians 11 (13) For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Messiah. (14) And no marvel; for satan himself is transformed into an angel [messenger] of light.
Conclusion: The thumps or quickening of the spirit, the flips,
the chills,
and such like
manifestations in the flesh that have been increasing at an alarming
rate in these last days ARE NOT USED
BY YAHWEH TO GIVE HIS ASSEMBLY ANY CONFIRMATION, ASSURANCE, HOPE, OR PROOF OF OUR
SPIRITUAL STANDING WITH HIM. Those things combined with the slaying in the
spirit, the false tongues, the false interpretations, the false prophesies,
the false words
of knowledge, and the all other counterfeiting of the gifts of YAHWEH'S
Holy Spirit will
and do promote signs, miracles and lying wonders with
which the evil one deceives the WHOLE
WORLD! As stated in the first paragraph of this article, Satan's evil powers
are surely trying to infiltrate the true Assemblies and Congregations of YAHWEH
in these last days with a counterfeit of YAHWEH'S Holy Spirit and with counterfeits of
the gifts of YAHWEH'S
Holy Spirit.
