Did YAHshua Die on a cross?

The cross is an instrument and tool of modern day Christianity, yet do they fully understand its true meaning? Do we, in the assemblies, who look on with a mixed bag of humor and disgust at their use and adoration of the cross, truly understand the meaning of the cross? Most of us have been led to deny the cross as Yahshua’s death instrument. Did Yahshua die on a cross? Did you know that our own bodies will testify the truth to us? Let’s trace it out to see what the truth of the matter is.

By Jerry Healan

I came in contact with the Worldwide Church of God around the age of twenty six (1969-1970) and continued with that group until early 1988. They taught that the Savior didn’t really die on a cross, but on an upright pole with His hands nailed directly over His head, not out on a crossbeam. When I came into the truth about the Sacred Names, many of their beliefs had been heavily influenced by the teachings of the Worldwide Church of God and the understanding about the cross remained the same.  We always referred to Yahshua’s death instrument as the pole, the stake, the tree, but not the cross.

The primary reasoning for this teaching is three-fold. Number one, Christianity was in so much error in almost everything that they believed. They taught that the law was done away, but never considered that sin is the transgression of the law (1 Jn. 3:4). If the law is done away, then there would be no sin. If there was or is no sin, then there is no need for a Savior. Primarily, the commandments declare what sin is, so once forgiven of our sins, then we must walk in the commandments, no longer living in sin.

Number two, the second commandment forbids us to make images of anything in heaven above, in the earth beneath, or in the waters below the earth. We are not to bow before nor worship them as seen in classic Christianity (Ex. 20:4-6). Christianity flaunts this commandment grievously, especially when it comes to the cross. They display it everywhere outside and inside their churches, high in the air on top of steeples, at their doors, on their altars, in many windows, wear it around their necks on their bracelets, etc., etc.

Number three, the cross was utilized in paganism and could be found in many of their ancient temples. It also was one of the identifying factors of the pagan god Tammuz. Thus, it was easy to justify leaving the cross behind.

The teaching in Worldwide and also in most of the assemblies was that the Greek word for cross is stauros, which means a stake or upright pole (Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance). To us, it became almost a shame to mention the word cross. We were led to utilize tree, pole, stake, etc., in lieu of cross.

The problem that we had in Worldwide was that they had three colleges where the ministry was trained. Their information was supposedly airtight since the Herbert W. Armstrong was such an in-depth student of the Scriptures and he and the professors and teachers at Ambassador College had studied these things out. We were not to question their teachings or authority. To question meant to be disfellowshipped. We were to sit there and receive their instructions because they had already done the groundwork for us.

Of course, we have that same problem with the Biblical scholars of Christianity, the Rabbis of Judaism, the Imams of Islam, etc. We, or rather their students and followers, don’t dare question those things that they have studied out and teach.

I had purchased a set of Encyclopedia Britannica somewhere around 1996-1997. It was the Fourteenth edition published in 1938. I spent a good deal of time perusing through as many of the volumes as possible. One day, much to my surprise I came across a mineral that occurs naturally in the creation called staurolite. Staurolite receives it name from the Greek words stauros and lithos which means “stone cross”! Take a look at the two representations. Stauros does mean cross.

What does this mean? It means that neither WWCG nor the assemblies have continued to progress to the second part of the definition that Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance presented; “a pole or cross (as an instrument of capital punishment); figuratively, exposure to death, i.e. self-denial; by implication, the atonement of Christ.”

Now either this is the blind leading the blind (it certainly was true in my case until the truth shined forth), or a purposeful cover-up in order to deny the truth of the matter. You see, even though Christianity is in great error, the fact of the matter is that they do have some truths, otherwise they wouldn’t be able to deceive a good number of people.

The problem is that we have a tendency to believe what we have grown up being taught (traditions), and also what our schools, colleges and universities teach us, and in many cases we will purposefully and blindly hang on to them even when the truth comes simply because we either love the traditional lies (as in December twenty-fifth being the Savior’s birthday, or evolution rather than supernatural creation), or we just don’t want to be different from everyone else. We go with the flow, so to speak.

As is revealed in the Scriptures, “Then came to Yahshua scribes and Pharisees, which were of Jerusalem, saying, Why do thy disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? for they wash not their hands when they eat bread. But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of Yahweh by your tradition? For Yahweh commanded, saying, Honour thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.  But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; And honour not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of Yahweh of none effect by your tradition,” Mt. 15:1-6.

Those who love the truth, when faced with the truth, need to embrace it and walk in it even if it causes conflict with others close to them or far from them.

THE WORD

The Apostle John writes, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Yahweh, and the Word was Yahweh. The same was in the beginning with Yahweh. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made….He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of Elohim, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of Yahweh. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth,” Jn. 1:1-3, 10-14.

We realize that there are those, even in the assemblies, the body of the Messiah, who are not able to believe these verses. That is to their detriment. We must receive the truth as it reveals the power and glory of Yahshua our Messiah. If we can’t, then we don’t have the power to become the sons of Elohim through Him.

Yahshua is the Word. All things were made by and through Him. He came to His own creation and His creation didn’t know Him. He came to His own people, specifically and especially Judah and they received Him not. It just isn’t possible for them, the overall preponderance of His people, both Judah and Israel to receive Him at this time.

Again, it is revealed in the book of Hebrews that Yahshua upholds everything, the heavens and the earth by the power of His word, “Elohim, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they….But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O Elohim, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore Elohim, even thy Elohim, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows. And, Thou, Sovereign, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands: They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail. But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” Heb. 1:1-4, 9-14.

Verse 13 is a direct quote from Psalm 110:1, “Yahweh said unto my Sovereign (Heb. = Adonai), Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. Yahweh shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion (Who is coming back to rule from Zion? Isn’t that Yahshua?): rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. Yahweh hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek (Is not Yahshua the High Priest after the order of Melchizedek?). Yahweh at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath,” vv. 1-5.

Look at verse 5! Who is at the right hand? Isn’t it Adonai? (verse 1) Here in verse five He is called Yahweh! The scribes who were utilized to preserve the Scriptures (called the Sopherim) admit that they changed verse 5 from its original word Yahweh and introduced the word Adonai as in verse one, because they couldn’t make sense of this otherwise. They simply couldn’t understand that the one being spoken of here (Yahshua) could also be Yahweh.

But in John and in Hebrews, and elsewhere we find that Yahshua is the word (Heb. = Dabar) through Whom all things were made. That He was with (beside) the Father in the beginning and that through Him all things were made that are made. Here in Hebrews we find that He upholds all things by the word of His power (verse 3).

The Apostle Paul, writing about Yahshua, said, “In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: Who is the image of the invisible Elohim, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. And he is the head of the body, the assembly: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence,” Col. 1:14-18.

By Him all things consist! The Greek word for “consist” is sunistao. It is defined as; to set together, i.e. (by implication) to introduce (favorably), or (figuratively) to exhibit; intransitively, to stand near, or (figuratively) to constitute. By and through Him all things are set together, are introduced, are constituted, or are held together.

LAMININ

There is a molecular protein called Laminin that I desire to now introduce to you. Here is what Wikipedia (the internet dictionary/encyclopedia) says about Laminin, “Laminin is a protein found in the extracellular matrix, the sheets of protein that form the substrate of all internal organs also called the basement membrane. It is the major non- collagenous component of the basal lamina, such as those on which cells of an epithelium sit. It has four arms that can bind to four other molecules. The three shorter arms are particularly good at binding to other laminin molecules, which is what makes it so great at forming sheets. The long arm is capable of binding to cells, which helps anchor the actual organs to the membrane.

The laminin protein is made up of three separate parts, called the A, B1, and B2 chains. That gives it a total of six "ends", which accounts for a lot of its flexibility in connecting up various kinds of molecules. Because of this, scientists who create biomaterials are extremely interested in the whole family of laminins. They are a family of glycoproteins that are an integral part of the structural scaffolding in almost every animal tissue. Laminins are secreted and incorporated into cell-associated extracellular matrices.

Laminin is vital to making sure overall body structures hold together. Improper production of laminin can cause muscles to form improperly, leading to a form of muscular dystrophy. It can also cause progeria.” (end of excerpt)

Now, let’s see what laminin looks like:

IS THIS NOT ONE OF THE MOST AWESOME THINGS YOU HAVE EVER SEEN!

We are held together by Yahshua the Word of Yahweh. We, our bodies, are literally held together by a substance called laminin that is in the form of a cross!

RECONCILIATION

Yahshua had to be lifted up on the cross in order to bring us together with the Father. No one can come to the Father except He goes to Him through the Son, “Yahshua saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me,” Jn. 14:6. “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture,” Jn. 10:9.

We must be reconciled to the Heavenly Father Yahweh. The only way we can be reconciled is through Him and His cross, “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others. But Yahweh, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with the Messiah, (by grace ye are saved;) And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in the Messiah Yahshua: That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through the Messiah Yahshua. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of Yahweh: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in the Messiah Yahshua unto good works, which Yahweh hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; That at that time ye were without the Messiah, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without Yahweh in the world: But now in the Messiah Yahshua ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of the Messiah. For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto Yahweh in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh,” Eph. 2:1-17.

“And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell; And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven,” Col. 1:18-20.

To reconcile comes from the word atonement. Atonement can be broken down into three syllables At – one – ment. We are covered by the blood of the Lamb. His blood atones for us to bring us into unity with the Father.

THE MEDIATOR

Yahshua is the Mediator between us and the Father, “But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises,” Heb. 8:6.

“But the Messiah being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of the Messiah, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to Elohim, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living Elohim? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new covenant, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance. For where a covenant is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. For a covenant is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth,” Heb. 9:11-17.

The first covenant, mediated by Moses, was for a temporary physical life. In order to bring in a better covenant, an eternal covenant that has the power to purge the conscience, the spirit, Yahshua had to suffer and die on the cross. His body and blood is far better than the blood of bulls and goats. His sacrifice brings in eternal redemption and an internal inheritance.

“For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:) But ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living Elohim, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to Yahweh the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Yahshua the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel,” Heb. 12:18-24.

Our inheritance is no longer just the earth, our inheritance is in the heavens. It is through Yahshua that the heavens and the earth are able to be brought together in one, “Blessed be the Elohim and Father of our Sovereign Yahshua the Messiah, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Messiah: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Yahshua the Messiah to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace; Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence; Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in the Messiah, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him,” Eph. 1:3-10.

The image in the Whirlpool Galaxy taken by the Hubble Telescope.

There is a formation in the southern hemisphere called the “southern cross.” Old-time mariners utilized this formation to guide themselves through the seas, but the Hubble telescope has captured an amazing picture in the whirlpool galaxy. It is a picture of a cross in the heavens. If the names of His firstborn are written in the heavens, then the symbol of the instrument through which He brings it all together, the cross of the Messiah would also be there.

THE ALEPH AND TAU

Yahshua declared that He is the Aleph and Tau, “I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Sovereign, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty,” Rev. 1:8. (Note: I have italicized “the beginning and ending” because it doesn’t appear in any of the manuscripts. It was evidently added as a note on the side and eventually crept into our modern day versions.)

Again, He says, “I am Aleph and Tau, the beginning and completion: to him who thirsts I will give of the fountain of living water freely,” Rev. 21:6.

Once more He proclaims, “I am Aleph and Tau, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the Completion,” Rev. 22:13.

Most of us are somewhat familiar with modern Hebrew wherein the Aleph looks like this (a), and the Tau looks like this (t) while the more ancient Paleo Hebrew Aleph is presented thusly (a) and consequently the tau (t). But in the even more ancient Pictorial Hebrew, the Aleph looks like the head of an ox (a), while the tau appears like a cross (t).

But Yahshua said He was the Aleph (a) and Tau (t). The Hebrew letter for “and” is the waw (f). Since Yahshua said that He is the “Aleph And Tau”, it would be translated into the Hebrew word owth or sign   (tfa). The ox or ram’s head symbolizes the one who is the chief leader. The waw (f) symbolizes a nail or tent peg, while the Tau symbolizes not only the cross, but the name, a mark, a sign, a covenant, etc. Thus, Yahshua is the chief leader who was to be nailed to the cross. His being nailed to the cross was a sign (owth) that the Old Covenant had been finished, brought to an end, and a New Covenant (owth) was to begin.

Was Yahshua nailed to a cross? Yes! Absolutely! Yahweh has caused the sign of the cross to appear naturally in earthly minerals, is utilizing it to hold our own earthly bodies together, and has emblazoned it in the heavens to show that He is Yahweh, He does not change (Mal. 3:6). He is and will utilize the cross of His Son to unite us all together in one, all things in heaven and in earth! How marvelous is our Elohim!

What about truth?
By Johnny McCarty

What is so important about truth? Sure people put a lot of emphasis on truth, after all, at the opposite of any truth is a lie. Aren’t we all taught from the youngest age not to lie? No one appreciates being lied to; it is equal to being tricked. Just the thought of being tricked makes some people angry, because if you were tricked someone else benefited and you lost out. People like a level playing field and a fair opportunity to win or lose on their own. Some people may argue this point and say, “well it depends on what is at stake.” Well what about your soul? What if your reward or loss could last forever? Would that be reason enough to seek the level playing field we just mentioned?

Now that we have established the risk and reward let’s get right down to the nitty-gritty on the subject of truth.

Webster’s Dictionary defines truth as conformity with fact, principle, or establishment with fact.

So let’s add this up- truth = fact, so the less truth you have the less facts you have, and if something is not fact it is fiction. We all know fiction is imagination. It all boils down to this, “If it’s not truth it’s pretend.” Would you prefer to pretend to receive something valuable or would you really want to receive something valuable? Most would say they want what is really tangible. Let’s be honest if saving your soul is pretend then you really are not saving your soul. It is as simple as that. Without TRUTH you really can’t be saved. This is fundamentally simple.

*First fact-The opposite of truth is: lie, fiction, pretend

Of course there is one more kind of anti-truth that needs to be understood. This one is a little harder to spot than the lie, but it is no more true or factual than the lie. This other covert less blatant and harder to recognize anti-truth is called omission. If you omit facts then you are propagating a lie. So let’s also understand that to withhold information that is pertinent to a decision means you have the intention of concealing the facts and hence another lie is born. We cannot be lacking information necessary to save our souls. Now let’s go seek out that information.

Now that we know truth is conformity with fact how do we establish the facts? The answer is simple, if we are talking about facts having to do with salvation then let’s look to scripture.

First let’s see what our savior said about Truth.

John 8:31-32 (31) Then said Yahshua to those Jews which believed on him, “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; (32) and ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.”

Few people know true liberation. In America we say we are free, but the freedom we know is not the freedom the Messiah speaks of here. Freedom to the wicked just means a license to commit whatever kind of sin they want. People who don’t have truth are in bondage. They are confined within a system of lies. They are held captive, if you will, to man’s institutional concept of what their Christian lives should be like. They know nothing else but what other men have taught them, and they cannot get their minds to break free from the system that has concealed the truth. Now of course there may be varying degrees of how deep and serious the lies are and there are many denominations of believers that are not completely practicing lies. What you have to consider here is this: if you are not completely practicing a doctrine that is complete truth then you are not completely free.

In the next verse we see a very important quote of the messiah and consider that he is not just making an analogy but rather expounding on exactly who he is. He is helping you to know him better. This verse is important because it ties in with all other verses about truth.

John 14:6 Yahshua said unto him, I am the way, the Truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the father but by me.

We see here that truth is important to him because he calls himself the truth. That’s worth repeating “Messiah is truth”. Also, if no man come to the father but by him, then it would be fair to say no man can come to the father but by truth, because he is truth.

*Second Important fact- Yahshua is the truth, so if you grab hold of the truth you are grabbing hold of him.

Before he was crucified he foretold  the delivery of the Holy Spirit (Ruach Hakodesh) and he called this the “Spirit of Truth.”

John 16:13 – Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to come.

So, The Holy spirit is the spirit of TRUTH, and it will guide you into all truth. With what we know so far you might say the set apart spirit is the spirit of messiah and will guide you in to all things messiah.

Yahshua goes on to say while praying to Yahweh for the disciples.

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth

Here we can see we become set apart by truth and also that scripture is truth. Wait a minute, hold the press! Messiah = Truth, Holy Spirit = Truth, The word of Elohim (God) = Truth. It’s starting to stack up. Truth is important.

Yahshua is the Messiah and, if you believe on him you should also believe that he never spoke a lie. To believe that anything he said was a lie is a work of Satan. He said the following regarding those that do not believe that he tells the truth

John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (45) and because I tell you the truth you believe me not.

Third important fact- Satan is equal to lie. This makes sense if Messiah is truth. So if you lie you are doing the work of the devil. If you believe a lie you are putting your trust in Satan. If you practice anything that is not truth you are practicing the work of Satan.

This is serious stuff, but I will not nor cannot apologize for truth because it is not my own. You heard it first from the mouth of Messiah. Our savior did not lie, every word from his mouth was truth, and if you do not believe that then you do not believe on him, and there would be no hope.

What did the apostle Paul (Shaul) say about truth and this hope?

Romans 3:4- Elohim forbid: yea, let Elohim  be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and thou mightest overcome when thou art judged.

Fourth important Fact- truth has to do with judgment and being an overcomer in the judgment. If you want to pass the test and have eternal life, truth is a must. It really makes sense if you pay attention. If Messiah is truth, then you obviously would have to have Messiah to obtain eternal life.

Also in Hebrews Shaul (Paul) says the following :

Hebrews 6:18- That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for Yahweh to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us.

But I already have the Truth

Remember The Messiah said in Mathew 7:13-15 “ (13) Enter ye in at the straight gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: (14) Because straight is the gate and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life and few there be that find it. (15) Beware of false Prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”

So here we see first of all that many people are practicing lies and doing it because they are just going with the flow, and we also notice that the Messiah referred to himself as a shepherd so what he is saying is that those who are teaching lies are doing so within his flock and under the guise of a worker of truth. It is not the lies of the Atheist or Satanist that the flock is following it is the lies of the Church leaders.

Something vitally important to understand is that there are some 33,000 different denominations of Christianity with probably millions of people around the world practicing the faith over several generations. There are massive numbers of people practicing a faith that proclaims to save their souls and here we see the creator of our faith saying that they are heading for destruction. Why? Well because they did not believe the truth.

What will happen to the liars and those loving lies?

Revelation 21:8- “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 22:14-15 (14) Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and they may enter in through the gates of the city. (15) For without are the whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

Notice here that those that make and love lies are not only compared to murderers and idolaters, but they are the opposite of those who keep the commandments and whom are allowed to enter in at the gates of the city. There are those gates again, remember, the ones that are straight and narrow that few people find. So you see here that the truth is very important. Truth is of the creator, it is Messiah, and it is essential to salvation. Lies lead to destruction, they are the path of destruction, they are of the Devil and many believe the lies. So no one that teaches lies can be teaching salvation, it is just not scriptural. Even if you are not teaching lies but are living under the teaching of lies then you are loving the lie, because people do not live the lifestyle they despise. On the contrary people do what they love and they do not do what they hate.

Also notice in these verses is one essential truth that has escaped many; verse fourteen says blessed are they that keep the commandments, for they have the right to the tree of life and may enter in the gates to the city. Did he just tell you where that straight gate was and how to get in? Let’s do a second take on that: Follow the commandments, enter the gate, enter in at the straight gate, straight is the gate and few there be that find it. These two verses have been paraphrased together to illustrate one point – they are the same gate. Remember gate, not gates, there is only one. The truth is the way and the commandments are the key.

Need a second witness? Isaiah 26:2 says- Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in. Chapter 26 starts with “In that day.” This expression in prophecy is synonymous with Yom YHWH (the day of Yahweh).

It is the will of your creator that you walk in truth, so that you can have eternal life. The truth is not the popular way, and sometimes it is hard for people to accept. Remember that narrow way that few people find.

We cannot practice a doctrine established on lies and expect to enter into the kingdom of heaven. We have to worship in spirit and in truth.

There is even more specific scripture that should help to shed light on why truth is important. All of Second Thessalonians Chapter 2 has to do with the great apostasy or the Great Falling Away. In order for that falling away to happen, many people will believe a lie. Please read all of this chapter but for now let’s, just look at 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2 verses 3 through 15

II Thessalonians 2:3-15 (3) Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come [this refers to the day of Messiah in verse 2], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (4) Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called Elohim, or that is worshipped; so that he as Elohim sitteth in the temple of Elohim, showing himself that he is Elohim. (5) Remember ye not that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? (6) And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.(7) For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. (8) And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the master shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: (9) Even Him, who’s coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, (10) And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish: because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. (11) And for this cause Yahweh shall send them a strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: (12) That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (13) But we are bound to give thanks always to Elohim for you, brethren beloved of YHWH, because Elohim hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: (14) Where unto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our master Yahshua Messiah. (15) Therefore brethren stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word or our epistle.

There is enough said in these scriptures right here to give you reason why you should be concerned with sifting fact from falsehood. If you don’t look for the truth and test it you will end up believing a lie and you might be damned.

There is a lot to be understood in these scriptures, but most importantly do not practice in any lies, and love the truth, or you will be allowed to believe a lie and perish. A second very important point is to know the traditions spoken of in verse 15. Do you think they were talking of Sunday worship which is not mentioned in those epistles? Well when it comes to traditions people regard the traditions of Christmas and Easter as important Christian traditions yet they are not mentioned in the epistles and taught by the disciples or the apostle Paul.

We now can see that not everyone has the truth and we can’t just stay in the crowd and keep our heads down and expect to have salvation.

However again let’s look at another witness. Isaiah 44 is about idolatry

In verse 18-20 we read : (18) They have not known nor understood: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts that they cannot understand. (19) And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh, and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? Shall I fall down to the stock of a tree? (20) He feedeth on ashes: a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, is there not a lie in my right hand?

The great falling away is a blindness allowed for false worship in verse 18. The He that shut their eyes is YHWH in verse 20. The he that feedeth in ashes unable to save his souls for the lie in his right hand is the one following after a false worship.

Truth in a word

Hebrew is an interesting language and let’s let the language speak for itself. We have heard what truth is, why it is important and, the warnings about straying from it; Now hear the word truth in the Creator’s language. The word truth in Hebrew is “Emeth” in English pronounced “Emet” in Paleo-Hebrew it would be represented as tma.

Hebrew reads from right to left which is interesting in itself because first of all the word emet comes from the Hebrew root aman which means – true, certain, faithful, sure, trust and turn to the right. Also the word Amein (let it be so, let it be true) comes from this same root word. So truth and turn to right being represented in the same word are a means of saying something. Think about this Hebrew is read from right to left so before you read his language you must turn to the right first or in essence turn to the truth. He is physically forcing us to turn our heads toward truth (right) every time we read his word in Hebrew. It is the only language that causes the reader to turn his head to the right to begin reading.  There is another fact that will cause you to think even more. Scientists who have studied body language will tell you that when people lie it has been observed that they look to the left or touch the left side of their face. The higher they touch the worse the lie. Of course it is my own theory that he is physically directing us to truth when reading Hebrew. Interesting enough to share it since I am not a Hebrew language nor body language expert, all I can say is that it will probably remain theory.

However something I can offer that is more than theory is a delineation of the word emet from the Paleo-Hebrew. The Paleo- Hebrew language was a pictographic language with images that could represent several thoughts or words. Let’s break down Emeth (right to left of coarse)

tma (tma)

a-Aleph, this is the first letter of the word Emet and the first of the Hebrew language. It’s Paleo image was a bull’s head. Among some of its meanings are (first, leader, strength).

m- Mem is the second letter of Emet and it is the image of waves or water. Meanings could be (massive or chaos).

t- Taw is the next letter in the word Emet. Its image is that of a seal. Think of some one that cannot write signing their name they put an “x” or think of it as “x” marks the spot. It is a mark. Its meanings could be (sign, seal, or covenant).

Let’s do a little word play. If we choose from the possible meanings presented, there are a few combinations we can come up with:

Leader, massive, covenant, revealed

First, massive, seal, revelation

The, strength, massive, covenant

These are just possible combinations to help better illustrate the meaning and importance of the Hebrew word for truth. But to get a better understanding for the value of truth from a Hebrew perspective I leave you with the following verse.

Proverbs 23:23- Buy the truth and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.

In seeking to understand more concerning the original and true use of our Father’s name, we find much wisdom and teaching about this from His written word. To find the answer outside of the traditions that have long misinterpreted much of the Father’s intent, we have to depend on the written Word and ask the Ruach Ha Kodesh (the Holy Spirit) to reveal the truth (Jn. 16:13).                                   By Kelly F. Miller

The Torah (Yahweh’s law, teaching, instructions, and guidance for His people for all time) commands:

“Do not misuse the name.” (Dt. 5:11 NIRV)

“Do not take the name in vain.” (Ex. 20:7 KJV)

“You are not to use lightly the name.” (Dt. 5:11 CJB)

What do these statements mean? The CJB (Complete Jewish Bible by David H. Stern) states the Name can be used, just not lightly. The NIRV (New International Reader’s Version) says not to misuse His name. And the KJV (King James Version) says not to use His Name in vain. Traditions of the oral writings of the Sages and Rabbis (who definitely did not have absolute and complete revealed knowledge) said that ONLY the High Priest, once a year, used the Father’s Name, or spoke it only once during the day of atonement to keep it holy. This implies that none of the people ever used it. Only the High Priest, only once a year. But is this the right interpretation?

Did the Rabbis, Scribes, and Teachers of the law always interpret it rightly? The Father spoke through His prophet (to the nations) Jeremiah and asked: “How can you people say ‘we are wise. We have the law of Yahweh? Actually, the teachers of the law have told lies about it. Their pens have not written what is true’.” (Jer. 8:8 NIRV)

It goes without saying, it was not our Father’s written Word that was the problem. He was referring to their additional interpretations in oral commentary. Our Master Yahshua constantly, and consistently set the record straight concerning the right interpretation, and continued to demonstrate to us an example of challenging the “accepted norms.”

Even the Apostle Paul showed and taught this (same) example and instructed the body of Yahshua Mashiach (Messiah) under the inspiration of the Ruach Ha Kodesh (the Holy Spirit of truth) to: “test everything; hold fast to that which is good.” 1 Thes. 5:21.

Our Master restored the Father’s name to His disciples. This is the clear message given in His statements “Father, keep them in your Name…I have made known to them your Name, and will continue to make it known.” (Jn. 17:11, 26). This was and is an obvious prophetic and significant statement.

The motivations of the Rabbis seem to be noble; to keep the Father’s Name Kodesh (holy). And they were correct in that determination. But did they succeed, or did they assist in helping the people forget His Name? We have to keep in mind that Israel had a history of losing the law and worshiping many idols. Thus, forgetting His Name.

What does it mean to keep His Name holy? The Hebrew word is Kodesh, which means: set apart, and from what? It can‘t be set apart and restricted from use by the people, because that would depart greatly from the clear understanding of many passages in the Holy and Sacred Scriptures that show people addressing and using His Name.

The challenge and duty of Elohim’s people is to accept the written definition in His revealed word. To be set apart is to be above, beyond, and different from the names of the many gods the pagan nations worshiped. There is only One Holy, pure, perfect, and Almighty Elohim and His Name is Yahweh! He is not at all like the gods the ignorant pagan nations worshiped. His Name is Kodesh – Holy – and set apart from their names. Those gods are no Elohim (gods) at all.

Only Yahweh Elohim is the self-existing, true, and living Elohim. But His Name being set apart does not render His Name un-useable by His people. The clear understanding of the Father’s written Word says:

“people began to call on the Name of Yahweh.” (Gen. 4:26).

“everyone who calls on the Name of Yahweh will be saved. (Joel 2:32).

“My people will know my Name.” (Isa. 52:6).

We know from many Scriptures in His written Word (outside of the traditions of men) that His Name was used, called upon by His people, and known by His own. Even the pagans surrounding Israel had heard of the Great and Awesome saving Name of Yahweh, and trembled!!! And His Name being known remained (and remains) Kodesh – Holy – and set apart. There was and is still no Elohim like Yahweh – the Elohim of Israel.

When we receive the Ruach Ha Kodesh are we not set apart and called Kodeshim, which is translated as saints? This word means we are sanctified, holy, and set apart by the Spirit of Yahweh. But no one would dare say we are now rendered un-useable because we are too holy! And neither should we say that about our Father’s Name. To not call upon or use His Name is to do exactly what we are commanded not to do. We lessen or weaken it to something used lightly, vain, void (cancelled) or useless in our lives. This happened before and the people drifted from using the Father’s Name into completely forgetting it. He obviously wants us to use, remember, and consider His Name as is shown by inspiring His servant Agur to ask this simple question: “What is His Name?” (Prov. 30:4).

In the beginning the people of Elohim called on His Name. After years of wickedness the people eventually forgot His Name. We find Abram in his father’s house full of idols. Our heavenly Father revealed Himself to Abraham, but our Father didn’t reveal or restore His Name until He gave it once again to Moses (Ex. 6:2).

Our Father Yahweh was restoring many things that were lost, because we know that the Father’s Holy Sabbath Day was known and practiced since creation, but lost while Israel was in a foreign and pagan land for 430 years. The true body of salvation will always know the Father’s Holy Days and His Holy Name. This is the pattern in Scripture. It is also stated in Scripture that the Israelites worshiped the heavenly host of stars while in Egypt. The Father was about to change all that and restore what was lost to His people. This is the clear implication through His servants, the sons of Korah as stated in Psalms 44:21: “If we had forgotten the Name of our Elohim, wouldn’t He have known it?”

Many did forget the Father’s revealed Name, Yahweh, for many years. He did know it and He wanted to restore it to His people. That is why He gave it to Moses, to teach it and share it with Israel again. And how mightily they would come to know our Father’s Name!

Later He used His prophet Hosea (2:16-17) to tell Israel they were addressing Yahweh as Baal. He told the people He was going to remove the name of Baal from their lips. This is the root of the English substitute word LORD as translated (incorrectly) in our Bibles. It’s not our Father’s Name. His Name is set apart from the gods and idols of the masses who knew and know His revealed Name, but refuse to call upon it. His Name is not LORD or Baal.

I AM YAHWEH; that is my Name! I yield my glory to no one else, nor my praise to any idol.” (Isa. 42:8).

He said His Name was being insulted daily (Isa. 52:5-6 CJB). How? Well, we have seen many examples already when addressing Him by a name that was and is not His. This is taking His Name in vain and misusing it according to the word. But His children having some supposed difficulty pronouncing correctly their Father’s Name is not a punishable offense, as some continue to assume. What father would discipline his child for not being able to correctly form the sound of his father’s name due to an undeveloped and unskilled tongue? Our Heavenly Father is more just, perfect, loving, and merciful than our earthly fathers. If they would receive and accept their child’s attempt with a hearty laugh and a huge hug, how much more our Father in heaven? He most certainly accepts our attempts to pronounce our Abba’s Name, even if it “may not be” absolutely perfect.

He warns the world that He will pour out His wrath on those that don’t call on His Name (Psa. 79:6). Now would that be just? Would it be right to punish people for not calling on a Name they supposedly never knew? But if they knew the Mighty Name of Yahweh and chose not to call on Him for salvation, then our Elohim would be just, and He is always just. The nations did know about the mighty wonders and awesome power of Yahweh – the Elohim of Israel. Archeology has discovered and uncovered many records of the pagan nations etched in stones, which named the Elohim of Israel as Yahweh. The facts are that they knew His Name, which renders them without excuse if they called not upon His Name, nor joined the assembly of the people of Yahweh – the Elohim of Israel. It is stated in the written word that He never left the people of the world without a witness. This is so as well in regards to His Name.

Much more could be said (and has by many others) but one would be richly rewarded with understanding from their own personal study. Before closing, one more important example should be drawn from the Master’s useful instructions recorded by Matthew chapter 15. In discussion with our Master Yahshua, the Pharisees proceeded to question Him as to why His disciples were breaking “the tradition of the elders,” in not washing their hands before eating. Yahshua’s response is illuminating to our understanding of this discussion. He said: “for the sake of your tradition you have made void (cancelled) the Word of Elohim.” (Mt. 15:6)

There were many such instances of their misinterpretations of the written word. The Master taught us by example to challenge and test all such assumed interpretations. If the elders got so much wrong then, what has remained wrong to this very day in regards to their traditions and false interpretations? We know that as a nation they cannot, as yet, collectively see their Messiah. We know that to this very day it is an obligatory law, and ritual duty to wash their hands while saying a baruch (blessing – called netilat yadayim) before eating a meal. (“To Be A Jew” by Hayim Halevy Donin 1972 pp. 78-79)

As we can see clearly, some are still stuck in the very same error of their tradition that our Master addressed some 2000 years ago. Could it be remotely possible that the “tradition” of not using the Father’s Name (which didn’t come from His word) could have been, and still is a misinterpretation, making void and cancelling the clear instructions of Elohim’s word? Scripturally we have proven this to be the case to anyone who has eyes to see and ears to hear. (Mt. 1314-17)

Once again, the Sacred and absolute Scriptures show the misuse of the Name is to use His Name in a curse (Lev. 24:10-23), or to not use it at all, or to say you know the Name of the Holy One and to live an unholy life. These are the clear misuses of the Kodesh Name extracted from the wealthy mine and treasure of the Father’s flawless word. To call on, or use the Name of Yahweh Elohim is a Sacred and Holy gift. But it is not a violation of our Father’s commandment, as some continue to presume. We, as His people, are to know, use rightly, respectfully, and reverently, His Name, by avoiding evil in our lives and doing all His Holy will, and by calling upon His Name for salvation and deliverance, or plainly just speaking our Father’s Name as His children should. His Name is still Kodesh – Holy – and set apart. But so is all Israel which is called by the Father’s Name, and no one would suggest we are not to be used.

The Father clearly wants His Name to be restored to use by His people, who know what His Name is, means, and to honor His commandment by not making His Name void, vain, or useless, but by allowing His Name to make us useful in bringing salvation and restoration to His people and the world. He continues to reveal His Name in so many awesome and wonderful ways. And to You our Father Elohim Yahweh be all the glory!

Comments From Our Readers

At a very young age, I was 17, I got pregnant and was given an ultimatum by my mother…you choose between your child or us, your family. I was afraid. I didn’t want to lose my mom, dad & brother so I gave in to my mom’s wishes, an abortion. They were illegal back then (’70-’71) so we went to a back alley abortion clinic in Beverly Hills where I watched my dad pay $2,000.00 in twenty dollar bills for the murder of his own grandchild, my own child. Long story short, that event caused me to use drugs to kill the pain, guilt and shame I carried for years & years. I ended up becoming a heroin addict for over 20 years. Fifteen years ago, in March, I hit my death bed. I had destroyed two of my heart valves by using dirty needles. I needed open heart surgery to live, but before they could even schedule me I had a major stroke, went into a coma, and was on life support for a month and a half. During the coma I went to… “the place of torment” (Lk. 16:19-31. I was laying on my back on a cold steel slab and my ankles were bound but my arms were free. All around me on every side, above me, and below me, were all of the idols, false gods, that I had freely chosen to serve! Bags of dope, needles, and I kept reaching out to grasp them, but I couldn’t get close enough. So close, yet so far and this was the torment! I was sent back and when I came out of that coma I was in a completely different hospital and had just had my open heart surgery!

I am so grateful to be alive and to be a light to those that Yahweh puts in my path! I have been writing as a pen pal to those in prison since 1999. Thanks for all of the literature you have sent me! I so desire to have a Bible with Yahweh’s name properly within its pages! Can you send me one or tell me where the best version is attainable? Thank you very much!

Greetings to Yahweh’s Evangelical Assembly,

May the love of Yahweh and the name Yahweh be a strong tower and place of refuge for this special assembly and work which you, the people of Yahweh, have dedicated to fulfill.

May the love, grace, strength, protection, guidance, wisdom, and blessings of Yahweh be sufficient for you in good times and bad to get you through to the apex of time when Yahshua the Messiah returns to collect His servants, settle accounts, and judge those who through knowing the truth, yet they remained unfaithful and wasted the blessings of Yahweh with nothing to show.

May His face shine upon you and may His light shine through and out of you. May His love spread through you to all mankind even in a world full of vain love. May His Holy Spirit run through this assembly and may supernatural calling, repentance, baptism and salvation come to all whom Yahweh has called (drawn). Yahshua says, “None can come to Me unless the Father draws them to Me.” It is true that no man can come to Yahshua unless the Father draws him to Himself through Yahshua. Yet, many today try and force their way into the kingdom by any means other than through the front door.

Yahshua is the Door, the truth, the way, the life, and the light of men. Without Messiah we, of all men, are lost. The temple of Yahweh only has one door by which we must enter through. We must enter through this door to come to the Father Yahweh. Once inside the temple of Yahweh we encounter the way, the truth, and the life which is illuminated by the light of life. I no sooner came to realize that to meet the Father Yahweh I must literally come to Him through the body of Yahshua, Messiah, Son of Yahweh.

Next I smell the prayers of the saints and beyond that, the veil which is no longer there blocking the way to the Father. Then I realize, the veil, it is the flesh of Messiah Yahshua. Yahshua submitted Himself to death, so that the veil, that is, His flesh might be torn away, never to remain the division between man and Yahweh. Yahshua is no longer blocking the way to the Father because He is become the way, the truth, an eternal life to all whom the Father has drawn to Himself. HalleluYah!

How I came to be Messianic was by the will of Yahweh. I had a supernatural conversion, repentance, baptism, salvation, training, etc. I do not here go into detail nor can I give much detail of my experience being that I have no words adequate to explain it. Let’s just say I wasn’t trying to become a Messianic. In fact, I was Catholic, and confused, hopeless, and completely angry when Yahweh drew me to His Son Yahshua. Five years later here I am. Thanks be to Yah! Now 29 years old, six years behind bars, ten more to go. I am more free and alive today than I was when I was free in the world. My whole experience has been one filled with miracles and above all change. Daily changing, adjusting, becoming what Yahweh has drawn me to become in Yahshua.

I have much to say, but for now, this is enough.

Thank you for sending me your introduction packet of information. I agree fully with your summary fundamentals of faith.

I currently run an assembly here in the chapel library established May 2007, called: Assembly of Yahweh/Search the Scriptures Ministry. One of several outside sponsors help us out with music cd’s, study materials, etc. We are small, currently nine members. We do need Sacred Name Scriptures which I’m looking for help with. Could you help? Do you know who could help?

Thank you for all your help. I would appreciate hearing/communicating with the elder of this assembly.

Shalom, Yahweh bless you richly.

My name is J….. M……. I’m an inmate in the Pennsylvania State Penitentiary.  I just came across your  Jan.-Feb. 2007 issue of Yahshua’s Witness Magazine. It’s great, and it’s a blessing for me to your magazine. The “Y” in Halleluyah is correct. I feel that I did not come across your magazine by accident. I was spiritually led to the truth. Amen.

My question is, will you “please” start sending me your Yahshua’s Witness Magazines starting with the ones I missed this year Mar.-Apr., May-Jun., Jul.-Aug. magazines? Would you also “please” send me information on other material that you offer at no cost? I’ll be looking forward to hearing from you in the near future. I can see that we are closer to the coming of Yahshua than what most others realize. Yahweh’s Evangelical Assembly is in my prayers. “Thank you.”

It is a privilege to have received the requested literature from your ministry in its capacity. I believe your publication is a dedicated service to the fulfillment of Yahweh’s precepts as recorded in the Sacred Scriptures. Every piece of information I’ve received from you has helped raise my awareness to Scriptural truth and my commission here and wherever else I find myself to be is to help resurrect the consciousness of others who are on a quest for Biblical truth. We are to help the seed of Israel realize who they are and that they were long ago sovereignty chosen by Yah for His purpose and that we will continue to be a vessel of redemption through which redemption of the entire world will be accomplished. Again, thank you for your literature, support and prayers. May the blessings of Yah be upon you. May His light shine upon you for protection and comfort. Shalom.

RA/GA

I started this letter with the intent to express how grateful I am for the knowledge and truth you are sharing.

But how to say thank you from my soul on paper or just with words doesn’t leave me satisfied. Hopefully, I’ve gotten it across properly. I have a family that loves me, mom and dad, two brothers and their wives. They both, like myself, have 2 children each, a boy and a girl. There are aunts, uncles, cousins and a grandmother still with us. What you are sharing with me will also reach them, around 50 people. Souls, you are helping to save, my family, and as many friends as will listen. Thank you from my soul.
